Damn, if a new Socom game is being made, along with a new Killzone game, I may have no choice to buy a PS5 on day one. Also, if the rumor of backwards compatibilitly is true, with regards to all formats, I sure hope I’ll be able to play all of my digital PS3 games.
The other nice part about this, is because I skipped the PS4 generation, I will be able to play Uncharted 4 and Infamous Second Sun. Also, despite the fact that I didn’t care for Killzone Shadow Fall when I tried it out, I’d probably still pick it up since I’m a fan of the series. I’d probably also play God of War, despite the fact that I’m a purist, and my opposition to the gameplay changes they made, which was really what people loved about the series before the new game.
Lastly, if Sony acquires Remedy, that would be a huge announcement. It would be interesting to know the industry politics behind this decision, particularly with Microsoft’s new culture and philosophy with regards to their direction with first party studio development. This might actually be the most competitive generation we will have yet to witness, which is exciting.
