Toyota Livestream from the 2020 Chicago Auto Show

January 28, 2020

Toyota returns to the Chicago Auto Show with at least one special truck in tow. Well, that’s what this lone teaser image of the brand’s midsize Tacoma pickup truck suggests. There’s little to glean from the picture, too, except that the truck appears to combine the lower fascia and unpainted fender flares of the Tacoma TRD Off-Road trim with the grille of the higher-end Tacoma Limited. Additionally, the truck features black-painted multispoke wheels.

It’s possible this image teases a new Tacoma trim that combines the capability of the TRD Off-Road model with the more luxurious kit of the Limited. However, we won’t know for sure until Toyota shares more information about the truck in the coming days. Nevertheless, it seems Toyota will likely show off multiple new variants of its numerous models in Chicago. “The forecast for the Windy City looks sporty and outdoorsy, with a touch of nocturnal mischief,” the company announced in a press release.

Like last year, Toyota will surely use the Chicago show to unveil the latest updates to its “sporty and outdoorsy” TRD Pro line of trucks and SUVs. Meanwhile, we believe the “nocturnal mischief” alludes to the brand’s blacked-out Nightshade Edition package. Currently, Toyota offers the 4Runner, Camry, Corolla, Corolla hatchback, and Sienna with the Nightshade Edition kit, and we expect the company to add more of its vehicles to that list in the Windy City.

Why waste time speculating what Toyota has in store for Chicago, though, when you can watch the Japanese automaker reveal its latest additions to its model line live? Come back to this page on Thursday, February 6, at 11:30 a.m. ET to watch a livestream of Toyota’s Chicago reveals.
