After playing hundreds of hours of Fifa 20 I can say without a doubt that it is a game that rewards the players that are less talented than their adversaries.
It is so bad that me and a couple of friends decided to play a few matches of pro clubs while doing a poor job on purpose. We used to play a very bad first half, allowing the adversaries to keep the ball most of the time and let them get a few kicks while not allowing them to score. When the second half started we decided to get serious and yep, almost any kick would end up in a goal. The game clearly keeps track of who is less talented and tries to give that team an advantage.
So, yep, this game is not broken, it was made this way. All the criticisms it gets are deserved
