Lord Of The Rings TV Show Director Shares A Behind-The-Scenes Photo

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV show is one of the most-anticipated new programs in the works, and it remains largely a mystery. That being the case, fans are eager for whatever new information or details there might be, and now some more has arrived.

Director J.A. Bayona has shared a neat behind-the-scenes photo from a recent night shoot where the lighting created a special effect. “The light from our set accidentally cast on top of a tree and it made it look like a strange cloud from a Miyazaki movie,” Bayona said in his caption.

This image follows a report from Lord of the Rings fansite TheOneRing.net that featured images and details regarding a night shoot in the woods. J.R.R. Tolkien loved trees during his life, and he wrote about them frequently and passionately in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings TV show is currently filming on stages and on-location in and around Auckland, New Zealand. Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies also filmed in New Zealand; the country has since become known to some as Middle-earth come to life.

In other news, it has been reported that Years and Years actor Maxim Baldry has been cast in a lead role for the Lord of the Rings show. There is no word yet on when the show will premiere, but Amazon is so confident in it that it’s already confirmed a Season 2.

Outside of the TV show, more details on the new Gollum video game and the upcoming Lord of the Rings MMO have been confirmed.
