Moto G Stylus stylus

Motorola’s well known for offering capable budget phones in the US, and the Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power both seem to fit the bill.

You don’t have to wait too long to get your hands on them, as the company has just announced that the devices have gone on pre-sale. You can pre-purchase the devices now ahead of the April 16 release date in stores.

What are you actually getting?

The two phones share the same horsepower, display, and front camera. That means a Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, a 6.4-inch FHD+ LCD screen, and a 16MP camera in a punch-hole cutout.

The Moto G Stylus differs from its stablemate by offering a stylus (obviously), 4,000mAh battery, and a different rear camera setup. You can expect a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide action camera for videos, and a 2MP macro camera.

The Moto G Power delivers a 5,000mAh battery, a 16MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter.

Pricing and availability

Motorola Moto G Power right profile

The Moto G Stylus is the more expensive option at $299, but it’s not like there are a ton of cheap phones with a built-in stylus. Need the Moto G Power’s extra juice? You can get the phone for $249.

Motorola confirmed that the two phones will be available unlocked from April 16 via Best Buy, B&H Photo, Walmart, and Amazon.com. Both devices will also be available via Google Fi, Republic Wireless, and Verizon.

You can also buy the Moto G Stylus from Metro by T-Mobile and Ting, while the Moto G Power can be had at Consumer Cellular, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile.
