T-Mobile announced that it’s integrating spectrum from Sprint into its network and expanding its 5G network in several major markets. The company also said it will soon open up nationwide 5G access for Sprint customers with the Samsung Galaxy S20.

For 5G, T-Mobile announced it is expanding its 5G network all around the country, including opening up 2.5GHz mid-band spectrum in parts of Philadelphia and coming soon to parts of New York City. Additionally, the company is rolling out 5G in Detroit, St. Louis, and Columbus. For Sprint customers, they’ll need to have a Samsung Galaxy S20 in order to access the 5G network in any of the locations in which T-Mobile is rolling out the new, faster network.

What to look for in your perfect 5G plan and network

So you’re thinking about taking the plunge into the world of 5G? Presumably you have a handset in mind, but perhaps aren’t sure about finding the right data plan or carrier? That’s no easy task, …

Sprint and T-Mobile completed a merger just a few weeks ago, and this marks the first steps of the two companies coming together. T-Mobile says that the two companies combining will allow the firm to provide 5G to “people in cities and rural areas with a 5G network the other guys can’t match.” T-Mobile is continuing to expand its 5G network as time goes on, and it’ll be interesting to see in what cities it plans to roll out the future network to next.

The changes also apply to those who don’t have 5G devices, as T-Mobile is promising to pump up its network LTE coverage for millions of Sprint customers across the board. Sprint customers will have roaming access to T-Mobile’s LTE network, which T-Mobile says will more than double the number of LTE sites accessible to Sprint users.
