2021 Chevy Camaro Getting Special-Edition Wild Cherry Flavor

Chevrolet has released its new ordering guide for dealers, and it reveals that the 2021 Chevy Camaro will get a group of options called the “Wild Cherry Design Package”—including, as you might have guessed from the name, a new red paint choice. First spotted by Muscle Car and Truck, their source says it’s a deep red, similar to the Garnet Red you see in the images here from the 2020 model year.

This is in addition to all the other updates for the 2021 model-year Camaro that we previously reported, including the addition of standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as wireless charging on certain trims. The 1LE performance package also expands to the V-8 SS models with the 10-speed automatic transmission (it was previously manual-transmission-only), and 1LT buyers can now add the RS and Redline Edition packages. To make room for the new Wild Cherry Tintcoat color, Garnet Red is going away. (Incidentally, Rally Green, Shock Yellow, and Satin Steel also bow out.)

But the Wild Cherry package is news to us, and is reportedly set to replace the Shock and Steel Special Edition, which was apparently exclusive to the 2020 model year. That package had a choice of color: Shock, a yellow seen on the 2018 SEMA show car, and Satin Steel. It also had a range of appearance upgrades, some of which will migrate over to the Wild Cherry package.

There are two levels to the package, the Wild Cherry Design Package 1 and 2. The first package is available on most trim levels save the 1LS and ZL1, and requires the RS package on the non-SS models. The second is available only on the 2LT, 3LT, and 2SS trims. Both packages are available for either the coupe or the convertible.

The Wild Cherry Design Package 1 includes black metallic stripes; Camaro logos on the 20-inch, 5-spoke wheels and the premium floor mats; and Camaro fender badging on the LT trims. The Wild Cherry Design Package 2 comes with all the stuff from the first package, plus black suede knee pads, a black fuel filler door with a carbon-fiber insert, Carbon Flash Metallic Ground Effects, and hood stripes. For the LT trims, the stripes are black or silver. For the 2SS, they’re black metallic or silver.

We’ve reached out to Chevrolet for comment about pricing and availability and will update if we hear anything official about this package.
