Get $10 Off Any $15+ Game, GTA 5 For Free, And More In Epic’s New Mega Sale

The Epic Games Store just kicked off its annual Mega Sale in a very big way: The store surprised Epic users this week by offering Grand Theft Auto 5 as its next free game, available now until May 21. The surprise giveaway marked the beginning of a full month of game deals and weekly giveaways at the Epic Games Store in what is essentially Epic’s version of Steam’s Summer Sale. Unfortunately, the Epic Games Store is having loading issues today due to a large number of people coming to the site to claim GTA 5.

The Epic Mega Sale includes four weeks of game deals, and a new free game will be given away every Thursday. Normally, we know what next week’s freebie will be, but during the sale, Epic is keeping each week’s free game a mystery. We’re keeping track of every Epic free game (past and current), so check out our guide for more info.

Of course, the Mega Sale is bringing a slew of discounts on Epic’s biggest games, including Control for $30, Borderlands 3 for $30, and Red Dead Redemption 2 for $48. Once the site is loading properly again, we’ll be able to highlight more of the best game discounts here.

In addition, Epic is bringing back its $10 coupon offer. Every Epic Games Store user can claim a $10 Epic Coupon right now, which can be used on eligible games or add-ons of $15 or more. The coupon is applied automatically at checkout. If you make a purchase or claim your first free game during the sale before claiming the coupon, you’ll automatically receive your first $10 coupon anyway. You can then use the $10 Epic coupon-on on another eligible game $15 or more, and you’ll get another $10 Epic coupon. These coupons expire November 1, so this is a pretty sweet deal.

The Epic Games Store Mega Sale is live now until June 11. Just like last year, Epic’s sale is happening ahead of Steam’s 2020 Summer Sale, which is rumored to begin June 25 and run until July 9.
