Hennessey’s Pumped-Up, 700-HP Goliath Pickup Enters Production

If you think the world needs more 700-horsepower pickup trucks, then you’re in luck. The Hennessey Goliath, a lifted GMC Sierra with 700 hp, is now in production. Hennessey plans on building about 100 units per year.

Hennessey took the normal Sierra and its 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 and decided to up the ante. The company added a massive 2.9-liter supercharger that pushes six pounds of boost to the GMC’s big bent-eight to coax 700 horses from it. To cope with its newfound grunt, the engine benefits from an upgraded camshaft and pushrods. The Goliath 700 upgrade is also available for Silverados with the 6.2-liter-V-8.

Included in the Goliath kit is Hennessey’s own Stage 1 off-road package, which adds a six-inch lift, custom 20-inch wheels, 35-inch tires, a custom front bumper with LED lighting, and more. Options include 15.1-inch front brake rotors from Brembo, a stainless-steel exhaust system, drop-down side steps, and a Goliath branded cargo cover for the bed.

Hennessey says the Goliath can get to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds; not bad for a lifted truck whose base version (that is, a standard Sierra without the upgrade) weighs at least 5,444 pounds. No doubt, the Hennessey Goliath, with all its upgrades, weighs even more.

The HPE GOLIATH 700 upgrade comes in at $26,950—not including the cost of the Sierra itself. If you want the stainless steel exhaust, then that’s going to cost you an extra  $2,750. Meanwhile, the brake upgrade is a steep $7,950. Great power comes with great responsibility, and in the case of the Hennessey Goliath, at great cost.
