Batman: The Dark Knight Trilogy Will Return To Cinemas In Hong Kong As They Reopen

The Dark Knight trilogy–consisting of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, all directed by Christopher Nolan–are returning to cinema screens in Hong Kong. According to The Hollywood Reporter, all three films are playing in advance of Nolan’s next film, Tenet, debuting on July 17.

The first film in the trilogy, Batman Begins, will return to cinemas on June 4. The Dark Knight will be available in cinemas on June 11, and then The Dark Knight Rises will appear from June 18. The movies will be available on IMAX screens as well, which makes sense as the last two films in the trilogy were partially filmed with IMAX cameras.

The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises both earned over $1 billion at the global box office, and these re-releases will increase those totals further.

In March, cinemas began to open again in China; however, just a few days later, they closed again. When cinemas reopen in other regions, it might be that some screens are showing already released films–the Russo brothers, for instance, would like to see their films Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame return to cinemas.

Tenet will arrive a month later, and we’re still not entirely sure what it’s about. Not even one of its stars, Robert Pattinson, can tell us much. Meanwhile, a new Batman film (simply titled The Batman) is in the works, starring the aforementioned Robert Pattinson.
