Be Rich has the best answer. The same drives you use to store your games, will still be useful for next gen storage. Transfer the games you are playing, store the ones you don’t off system. It’s not complicated. And as usual, the more consumers buy memory, the faster they become standard and cheaper. Just like SD cards, micro SD cards and HDDs. So will SSD. I remember when micro SD cards cost ridiculous prices. Now, they pretty much give them away. Now, a micro SD of half a terabyte is affordable. Something that fits on your finger.
It’s only bad for gamers who like digital only and fill up their drives. If you have to have every game you’re not playing at your command? Yeah. It will affect you.
Or, buy disc games that have large file sizes. No need to download a large file size, no need to worry about data caps, no need to store the game on an HHD or SSD until you need it to play.
Also, this article seems to be pushing streaming as a solution. Like it’s a Puff Piece pumping Stadia and Xcloud. Sorry. Most of us still don’t want streaming and being reliant on the internet. NO internet, NO gaming. Now that’s EASY to understand. And I still don’t want it.
