Android 11 beta phones: Is yours supported?

June 12, 2020

Update, June 12, 2020 (4:03 PM ET): As of right now, the Android 11 beta is only available on the Google Pixel devices and a handful of third-party phones. The list seems to be growing longer though as Poco has also announced that it’s bringing the Android 11 beta to the Poco F2 Pro. The company hasn’t revealed a specific date yet, but we’ll keep you informed when it does.

Meanwhile, we’ve updated the original article below to reflect this information.

Original article, June 10, 2020 (1:00 PM ET): Last year, for the Android Q beta (which eventually became Android 10), you could install the early version of the operating system on nearly two dozen phones. This year, though, for the Android 11 beta, that is decidedly not the case.

For now, only the most recent Google Pixel devices support the first beta, which landed today. That means all Pixels except for the original Pixel and Pixel XL.

Android 11 beta phones:

  • Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
  • Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL
  • Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL
  • Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL

Unfortunately, we don’t see phones from Asus, LG, Nokia, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sony, Vivo, or Xiaomi on the initial list of devices that can get the update right now. All those brands had phones within the Android Q beta program last year.

A source familiar with Google’s plans confirmed to us that this and future versions of the Android 11 beta (we expect there to be at least three of them) will work on some non-Pixel phones. However, we weren’t told which models would be supported and when.

Thankfully, a couple of OEMs have since revealed that the Android 11 beta is coming to their phones, namely OnePlus, Oppo, and Xiaomi. You can check out the supported models below.

Third-party Android 11 beta phones:

  • Oppo Find X2 series
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro
  • OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro
  • Poco F2 Pro

Hopefully, more brands are able to hop on the Android 11 beta bandwagon very soon, such as Asus, LG, Nokia, and maybe even Samsung. We will update this article with direct links to installation instructions for each device as soon as they become official.
