The 2021 Range Rover Goes Retro In Honor of Its Golden Anniversary

It has been 50 years since the original Range Rover launched, and to celebrate the milestone, the British marque is introducing an ultra-limited edition model of its flagship SUV. The 2021 Range Rover Fifty is coming soon with special color options and copious badging. And, yes, some of the SUVs will make their way to North America.

In limited numbers, buyers will be able to choose three cheery paint colors from the original Range Rover palette, including Tuscan Blue, Bahama Gold, and Davos White. Other paint jobs will include Carpathian Grey, Rosello Red, Aruba, and Santorini Black. The exterior also features a bespoke finish that Range Rover calls Auric Atlas. Unique 22-inch wheels, available in two different designs, finish off the look.

As with any respectable special edition, this Range Rover gets unique badging. You’ll find a “Fifty” script on the exterior as well as parts of the interior, including the sill plates, dashboard, and headrests. It also appears on the commemorative plaque that notes the model’s special nature. Since the limited edition is based on the Autobiography trim, we expect the vehicles to sport premium features such as 24-way heated, cooled, and massaging front seats and executive heated, cooled, and reclining rear seats.

Range Rover will make 1,970 copies of the special edition for the world, marking the SUV’s inaugural year of 1970. Both standard- and long-wheelbase versions will be available. North American models will come standard with a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 making 518 hp.

Prices and specifications will be announced later this year, closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date. But we imagine it will be more expensive than the 2020 Range Rover Autobiography, which costs $145,095 when equipped with the 518-hp V-8.
