Amazon’s shopping day with all kinds of deals has apparently been moved to Fall 2020. This is not the first time Amazon Prime Day has been delayed, but hopefully, it will be the last.

According to a report from Business Insider, Amazon is moving Prime day out of the summer and back to October, making it a fall event. In an email sent out to third-party sellers, the online shopping giant listed an October 5 date. However, it cited that date as a “placeholder.” A later email indicated that this would be the final date, so it’s quite possible October 5 will be the day Prime members will look to do some shopping.

A possible reason for Amazon to issue yet another delay to Prime Day is an issue with having enough inventory to meet the demand of shoppers. The closing of many factories and issues with the company’s own logistical operations could slow things down greatly, thus forcing Amazon to give itself some extra time.

For online shoppers, there are very few days of the year more exciting than Amazon Prime Day. Like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon uses Prime Day as an opportunity to reduce prices on all kinds of popular items. However, most of the deals are limited to members of Amazon Prime, while the more traditional shopping holidays have deals that are available to everyone.

Originally, Prime Day was moved to August. Shortly after, Amazon moved it to September. Now we’re looking at an October date. Ideally, this would be the last time the company moves the event, though we’ll need to wait for an official announcement regarding the final date before we can be certain.
