As part of GameSpot’s summer gaming extravaganza, we sat down with Madden NFL 21 producer Sean Graddy who spoke to us about what’s new in this year’s professional football game from EA Sports.

In the video, Graddy talks about the major changes to controls this year, including advanced skillstick controls when running the ball. He also confirmed that, based on the feedback from the recent Madden NFL 21 beta, the studio has rolled back the changes to the rick stick up move.

Graddy also speaks about the new defensive options for pass-rushing, mentioning that this year’s game will now give you more on-screen feedback to help you play better. Also on the defensive side, Graddy spoke about the new open-field tackling and how players should have better control and make better plays.

This is just a small sampling of what’s discussed in the video. Graddy also talks about the response to Madden’s microtransaction-heavy Ultimate Team mode, what’s new in the career mode this year, and lots more, so be sure to watch the full video to hear directly from Graddy about what’s new and exciting about this year’s game.

In other news, EA Sports has begun to announce the player ratings for Madden NFL 21, starting with rookies.
