The latest minivan, available this year in Korea, is longer and wider than the outgoing model. The bigger dimensions help in its transformation from a vanlike box into Kia’s notion of a blocky “GUV.”
The latest Sedona adopts more trucklike styling characteristics, including a longer and flatter hood, chunkier proportions at the rear and a faux front skid plate on the Korean-spec Carnival shown in photos. The sliding doors are better integrated into the body, reducing the minivan look on the sides.
“The new Carnival features a shorter front overhang, with the base of the A-pillar moved backwards to create a longer hood,” Kia said. “Its increased wheelbase also contributes to greater space throughout the cabin, while giving the car a longer, slightly more athletic silhouette.”
