After rolling out the Android 10 update for the Moto G7 series of phones, Motorola has finally shifted focus to the Moto G8 Plus. The budget smartphone was launched alongside the Moto G8 Play, Moto E6 Play, and One Macro phones in October last year.

The Android 10 update for the budget phone is now rolling out to users in Spain and Brazil (via Ytechb). In the coming weeks, the update is expected to expand to several other markets, including India. It arrives as version QPI30.28-Q3-28 and brings a number of new features and security enhancements. The latest July 2020 Android security patch is included as well, which is commendable.
Some of the major highlights of the new update include a system-wide dark mode, focus mode, and gesture navigation. It also brings a bunch of system improvements and bug fixes. Once the update becomes available in your region, you will receive a notification on your Moto G8 Plus. You can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates.
Like Motorola’s other recent G series phones, however, the Moto G8 Plus is unlikely to receive another major OS upgrade.
