Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leak hints at another eye-watering price tag

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leak 2

A render from Samsung Ukraine.

  • A leak suggests Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 line will carry a €999 starting price in Europe.
  • You could expect to pay considerably more for 5G and Ultra models.
  • The Galaxy Buds Live could start at €189.

You might be disappointed if you were hoping the Galaxy Note 20 would cost as much or less as its Note 10 predecessor. Frequent leaker Ishan Agarwal and MySmartPrice claim to have European pricing for the Note 20 series, and you may be paying a premium for the latest version of the pen-focused smartphone.

The base Note 20 will reportedly start at €999 for an LTE version with 256GB of storage, and €1,099  for its 5G counterpart. You might pay considerably more for the larger screen and higher-end cameras of the Note 20 Ultra, for that matter. A version with 5G and 256GB of storage (there’s no mention of an LTE model) would start at €1,349, while bumping the storage to 512GB would raise the price to €1,449.

For context, a Galaxy S20 with LTE and 128GB of storage is currently priced at €876 in Germany, while an S20 Ultra with 5G and 128GB of space will cost you €1,315. The Note 10 begins at €925, and a Note 10 Plus sells for €1,071.

The pricing leak also has the Galaxy Buds Live costing €189 versus €165 for the Galaxy Buds Plus from earlier in the year.

These prices won’t necessarily translate neatly to their US equivalents. Aside from tax differences (all those European prices would include VAT) and currency value changes, Samsung will likely adjust price tags from market to market.

It wouldn’t be completely surprising if Samsung hiked prices. The S20 series carried a significant premium over the S10 line, and the Note 20 could follow suit with major changes to its cameras, memory, and storage. The Buds Live are believed to include built-in fitness tracking that earlier Galaxy Buds models lack. Still, a price increase could be a pain if the Galaxy Note range was already stretching the limits of your bank account.
