Well, technically, those games aren’t XSX games but cross-gen. Same way games going to PS4 right now are the same price on PS5 (Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla, etc.). But, regardless of that item, it is a weird thing to see at this time. Demon’s Souls and third-party exclusives on PS5 are the only price hikes we’ve seen, right?
Edit: So, I just looked at GameStop. Few items.
1. The XSX game listing on GameStop is very skimpy, with Halo Infinite ($59.99) and CoD:BOCW ($69.99).
2. The PS5 game has more listings, with GodFall ($69.99), CoD:BOCW ($69.99), Farcy 5 ($59.99), Watch Dog: Legion ($59.99). Still skimpy, but not as much as XSX.
3. This looks like it’s still a publisher-determined item. Halo: Infinite is the only 1st party game listed and it’s at the normal price (MM is listed at below that as it’s not considered a $60 game by Sony). But, so are other third-parties.
Perhaps this is just GodFall following Sony and Activision pricing here by default? I will note that Ubisoft tends to have ridiculous gold and ultimate editions at ridiculous pricing, so them keeping their base prices doesn’t seem to be out of kindness but knowing they’ll get enough to get the higher priced items for the season pass and whatnot.
