  • The Motorola Razr 5G is finally available in the US.
  • It will be sold unlocked through a number of retailers from October 2 from $1,199.
  • AT&T and T-Mobile will also stock the foldable phone.

After a three-week wait, the Motorola Razr 5G is finally hitting the shores of the United States. The foldable phone will be sold unlocked from a number of retailers from October 2, and on contract from the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile.

At AT&T, customers trading in an eligible device can snag a Razr 5G for up to $700 less its original $1,399 price by porting their number to the network. Existing customers can also get up to $400 off the Motorola Razr 5G for adding a line, or $300 off by upgrading to the device.

T-Mobile users can get the phone for “for half off with 24 monthly bill credits when you activate a new line and trade-in an eligible device.” Just trading in? You can get up to $400 off the Razr 5G’s original price.

If you’re on the hunt for an unlocked Motorola Razr 5G, the phone will be available through Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo alongside Motorola’s official store. The phone will be sold for $1,199 — $200 off its original launch price.

Motorola faces some stiff competition in the US folding clamshell market, too. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is arguably setting the pace for this particular form factor, but it is ~$100 more expensive than the Razr. The Z Flip arguably remains the better choice, but Motorola’s aggressive pricing should see the Razr 5G accrue some fans. The upgrades over its predecessor should help the phone make an impression, too.

Motorola’s second crack at a foldable phone retains the original’s clamshell form factor but upgrades it to a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The battery’s also larger than its predecessor at 2,800mAh, while this time around buyers will also get access to 5G networks.
