You might want to be careful about your choice of case for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, at least for a while. Users on Samsung’s forums and Reddit are reporting (via Android Police) that using the S-View Flip Cover for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra causes screen burn-in, including discoloration on the side where the case displays visuals.
If your phone is affected, the issue appears to go away when you switch to a different case. It’s not certain if software utilities can resolve the issue.
It’s also unclear what’s causing the issue. Some speculate the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s burn-in may be due to a software bug that doesn’t turn off the screen portion the S-View Flip Cover uses. We’ve asked Samsung for comment.

Burn-in is a concern for virtually any phone with an OLED screen due to the nature of the technology. Leave a static item on the screen for long-enough periods and you’re likely to see traces of that item, usually temporarily. It’s rare, however, and seldom happens even on phones using always-on displays. They usually have techniques to prevent the OLED panel from retaining images.
This doesn’t appear to affect everyone, and the nature of the problem suggests that it might be fixable with an update. These kinds of issues are unusual for Samsung. For now, though, you might want to consider another case if you’re determined to keep your phone’s display as pristine as possible.
