Audi TTS Line Competition Plus Adds Excitement—But There’s a Catch

The Audi TT will live on for at least another year here in the U.S., giving us a little more time to enjoy the stylish two-door. Unfortunately, Audi is holding back on one tasty treat for our market: the S Line Competition Plus. This model, headed to Germany by the end of the year, features unique design details inside and out.

The special TT gets distinctive bumpers, radiator protective grille, side air inlets, sill trim, and rear diffuser insert. Black accents can be found everywhere from the grille to the side mirrors, sill trim, air inlets, tailpipes, Audi logo, and fixed rear wing. Roadster models feature a black hood and high-gloss black roll-over bar cover, while dark privacy rear glass is available for the coupe. Topping it all off are black 19-inch wheels, or available 20-inch wheels, with red brake calipers. Available exterior colors include Turbo Blue, Tango Red, Glacier White, and Chronos Gray. Under the hood of this special TT sits a 2.0-liter engine with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, so it slots between the TT and TTS we offer on this side of the pond.

The interior is based on the S Line Sport package. Buyers can choose between standard leather and Alcantara seats, or full Nappa leather upholstery. The headrests come embossed with S logos. Contrast blue or red stitching completes the look. There’s more color contrasting on the center console and other areas, available in red, blue, or gray. Matte brushed aluminum or carbon inlays can be found throughout the cockpit. Audi’s fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster is standard fare.

Although we can’t get this exact TT here in the U.S., Audi has made available a similar S Line Competition package. On our shores, the sports car continues to be powered by a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Although the TT is not as powerful or nimble as most sports cars, we’re charmed by its exterior and interior design. The TTS—only available as a coupe—ups the ante to 288 hp and 280 lb-ft.
