If they have more stock it could happen.
They’re both gonna be sold out extremely fast. Whoever has the most stock will win the Holidays. It’s a battle of attrition right now. Playstation will be on top regardless in 2021 as for the rest of the gen. Who knows?
I used to believe that Playstation was always gonna dominate in sales. However, with Xbox having GamePass, Series S( A cheap nextgen console during tough financial times ),Xbox ALL Access, GameStop partnership, Exclusive Bethesda titles. This next generation is gonna be an interesting battle. I believe it’s gonna be pretty even in the end. Like during the 360 days. Them buying Bethesda goes to show that the tide could always turn.
As for overall userbase, I 100 percent believe Xbox is gonna win when you count monthly active users because of xCloud and PC. Even now (with barely any games) it’s pretty close. Xbox is at 100 Million MAU and Playstation I estimate is around 115 Million (103M last reported)
