That is extremely optimistic.
This analyst predicting PS5 taking over the esports scene is somewhat… unsubstantiated. It’s definitely shaping up to be an extremely impressive console, but you’re not going to peel off the PC market; based on what, exactly? PC is multipurpose and people like the greater flexibility afforded to PC than consoles.
It surprises me this comes from Rakuten—to have that kind of sales force, you need to have a massive presence in every country (or more countries than before) and I actually don’t see PS5 being a runaway hit in Japan.
This optimism just feels oddly misplaced.
