Nintendo had plenty to announce during its surprise Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, including the reveal that Nintendo Switch exclusive No More Heroes III is launching in 2021. If you’ve got an itch for more Travis Touchdown before then, however, both No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle are available to download now.
Originally appearing on the Nintendo Wii, remastered versions of the first two games in the series have now arrived on Nintendo Switch and are available to purchase on the eShop. Both games are sold separately and are currently on sale through November 14 for $18 / £16.19 each–the regular price is $20 / £18. The remasters feature a host of new enhancements including HD textures, improved system font, additional language support, and more.
Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and SUDA-51, No More Heroes revolves around Travis Touchdown and his goal of becoming the #1 ranked assassin in the United Assassins Association. Armed with his trusty beam katana, Schpeltiger motorcycle, and a bevy of pro-wrestling moves, Travis will mow his way through the competition until he reaches the top.
No More Heroes received a score of 9/10 in GameSpot’s review when it launched back in 2008. Critic Kevin VanOrd praised Grasshopper Manufacture’s action game for its joyous, stylized action and high-concept story. No More Heroes 2, meanwhile, earned a score of 8.5/10 in GameSpot’s review, with critic Lark Anderson similarly praising the game’s combat and story.
Nintendo’s latest Direct Mini also revealed that cloud versions of both Control: Ultimate Edition and Hitman 3 are coming to Nintendo Switch, and announced the release date for Bravely Default II.
