We haven’t seen independent benchmarks yet and we have no idea about the RT capabilities of Big Navi. If we go by AMD figures alone rasterization-performance/$ should be in the same ballpark across 3070, 6800 and 6800 XT, so it mostly becomes a question of how much performance you need.
The RX 6800 will probably be slightly more future proof as a 4k card compared to the 3070, because it has twice the amount of VRAM and ~14% more performance on average (according to the limited sample size provided by AMD).
Availability is another factor to keep in mind. We can compare the cards on paper all day long, but if one is available while the other isn’t there really isn’t much of a choice.
