Ubisoft is rebranding its Uplay+ subscription service, changing its name to Ubisoft+. The service will relaunch on Google Stadia and Amazon Luna this year.
A beta version of Ubisoft+ will launch on Luna on November 10. It costs $15 a month and features a library of more than 100 Ubisoft games that can be played free of additional fees during the beta.
Subscribers will have access to premium editions of upcoming releases like Immortals Fenyx Rising and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, though the fine print specifies that premium editions “may not include all premium content.”
The service will come to Google Stadia later this year, though no exact date has been given. Subscribers can sign up with the free tier of Stadia, so a Stadia Pro subscription is not required to access Ubisoft+ on the platform. Ubisoft+ subscriptions carry over between services, so players won’t need to subscribe twice to use Ubisoft+ on both Luna and Stadia.
The service features cross-platform progression, allowing players to pick up where they left off in a game across devices. Ubisoft’s announcement post does specify that the beta is available to “subscribers on PC,” so it’s currently unclear if Ubisoft+ games will be playable on mobile devices at launch.
The announcement continues Ubisoft’s notable history with cloud gaming. Before Stadia launched, Google tested its cloud gaming capabilities by allowing players to play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in a browser. When the beta ended, testers received a free copy of the game in their Uplay+ library with all progression saved. The company recently collaborated with Google again this month, making a demo of Immortals Fenyx Rising available on the service exclusively.
