This is kind of silly, I went through a few of the monitors and they seem to be newer monitors some maybe even unreleased and very expensive like $800 to $1000. If they were offering to update their older monitors that would be awesome but why would someone spend that kind of money to emulate 4k when they could just get a high quality 4k that they could just run at 1440p if desired?
At one point 1440p was the thing because you could get high refresh rates which is still true to some extent (above 144) but you can get high refresh rate (120/144) 4k monitors for the kind of cash they are asking for these.
I couldn’t see myself buying these, though it would be a great feature to patch into older monitors. Or if they wanted to market this on newer monitors this seems like a much better fit for a person looking for a budget monitor.
