This could be our first look at the OnePlus 9’s design

The OnePlus logo.

  • We just saw our first set of leaked renders that reportedly depict the design of the OnePlus 9.
  • The front of the device looks very familiar, while the back has some new design elements.
  • The phone should launch earlier in 2021 than usual, so leaks should come earlier too.

Over at 91Mobiles, we found a set of leaked renders that supposedly depict the upcoming OnePlus 9. You can see the renders mirrored below.

Usually, 91Mobiles partners with famed leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (a.k.a OnLeaks) for leaks such as these. However, that does not appear to be the case this time. In fact, 91Mobiles does not give out any information on its source at all. In other words, while we trust 91Mobiles because of its history of accurate render leaks, it is important to treat this particular leak with a bit more scrutiny.

Regardless, check out the OnePlus 9 leak below.

OnePlus 9 Design Leaked

According to the leaked info, the OnePlus 9 could come with a flat display panel that is larger than the 6.55-inch panel of the OnePlus 8T. The back of the phone will remain curved, allegedly, and could feature a triple-lens camera setup.

The anonymous source speaking with 91Mobiles also said that the phone could come with a 120Hz display refresh rate. This is the same refresh rate as the OnePlus 8T, but it shoots down other rumors that alleged OnePlus could jump to 144Hz refresh rates in 2021. Technically, that still could be the case with the Pro variant of this phone.

We expect this phone to launch earlier in 2021 than usual as OnePlus will need to respond to the alleged news that Samsung is also bumping up the release of the Galaxy S30 series. As such, you probably don’t have too long to wait before finding out if these renders are the real deal or not.
