Get a free Google Stadia controller and Chromecast with Cyberpunk 2077

Google Stadia review playing on controller 1

  • US-based buyers who pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 can get a free Google Stadia controller and Chromecast Ultra.
  • You have until December 18, 2020, to take advantage of this deal (or while supplies last).
  • The big caveat is that you probably won’t see your package arrive by the time the game launches.

Although the game has been delayed several times, Cyberpunk 2077 is still one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year. When it does finally launch in December (unless it gets delayed again), you’ll be able to play it on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as well as PCs.

Oh yeah, and it will also be available on Stadia. Google really doesn’t want you to forget this, so it’s offering a pretty sweet deal: pre-order Cyberpunk 2077, and get a free Google Stadia controller paired with a free Chromecast Ultra. That’s everything you need to get started with Stadia’s cloud gaming service.

How to get your free Google Stadia package

  • You must be a US resident over the age of 18.
  • Head to the Stadia landing page for Cyberpunk 2077 by clicking here.
  • Make sure you are signed up with Stadia and logged in to your account. You do not need a paid subscription, just an account.
  • Click the “Pre-order on Stadia” button.
  • Sometime between now and the week after Cyberpunk 2077 launches, you will receive an email redemption code. That code will allow you to “purchase” a Stadia controller and Chromecast from the Google Store. Don’t worry, the code will make it so your cart will have a zero balance — even shipping will be free.

The big caveat here with this free Google Stadia package is that there’s no way to tell how long you’ll need to wait before you receive your package. Remember that the middle of December is the busiest time for shipments during the year. As such, you could be waiting around for a few weeks (or more) after the game’s release before you can actually play it. Of course, you could play it using a Stadia-approved controller and a Stadia-approved device you already own in the meantime. Check out compatibility here.

Regardless, a free Google Stadia controller and free Chromecast is a $100 value. That’s sweet no matter how you look at it!
