You don’t have to wonder when your Huawei device will get EMUI 11. As XDA explains, Huawei has shared a schedule that outlines just when your phone or tablet will receive the Android update.
As a rule, Huawei expects to update the P40 and Mate 30 smartphone lines to EMUI 11 first based on this schedule. Users in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Russia can expect the new software as early as December 2020. Latin American and Japanese users will have to sit tight until January 2021.

Everyone else will have to wait until the new year. The Mate XS and Nova 7 receive their updates in January. Other qualifying devices, including the P30 series, Mate 20 series, MatePad Pro, and MediaPad M6, will only get their updates sometime in the first quarter of 2021 (that is, no later than March).
Wherever your device sits in this schedule, you can expect Huawei to deliver a number of refinements with EMUI 11. It’s based on Android 10, but you’ll get customization for the always-on display, smarter multitasking, slicker animations, and tighter privacy controls. PC integration gets a boost with support for up to three apps at once on your computer, and Huawei’s Celia voice assistant works in Italian and German.
You should also see some Android 11 features reach the new operating system. Huawei, however, has stressed that it’s not in a hurry to adopt Google’s latest platform. The company believes it can outdo Google in some respects, and there’s not as much incentive to adopt Android 11 when the US trade ban has denied newer phones access to Google apps and services. Like it or not, Huawei is determined to go its own way.
