There’s a lot to love about the Alfa Romeo Stelvio we get in America—in 505-hp Quadrifoglio trim, it’s a monster, and even in lesser trims it features a potent 2.0-liter turbo engine and lots of style. Quirks and gremlins? We’ve experienced our share, but there’s no denying the passion this crossover SUV invokes, something that’s hard to find in the otherwise milquetoast compact luxury crossover segment. Now our European friends can spec their non-Quadrifoglio models in the Veloce Ti trim, gaining some sporty QF-inspired styling bits to add a little more drama and appeal—just like its Giulia Veloce Ti stablemate, which has been on sale for a while now.
There are no mechanical changes, so in this respect it’s a bit like some of the appearance and equipment packages on our American Ti models. For one, there’s a revised rear bumper with a sporty diffuser element, the body kit takes on the body color, and there are new 21-inch alloy wheels in a dark finish. Those wheels will eventually become available on other trim levels, but for now the Stelvio Veloce Ti is the only place to get them.
The interior is likewise inspired by the QF, with dark accents and aluminum shift paddles. The sport seats are covered in leather and Alcantara. There’s real carbon fiber on various dress-up bits inside. The Euro version is exclusively available with the 280-hp turbo inline-four, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Pricing is yet to be announced—ditto whether or not this setup is headed to America anytime soon.
