Im not so sure actually. I think this is quite well done.
A few genuinely great smaller games get lost in the awards season and deserve some attention. Lair of the clockwork god and Signs of the Sojourner were loved within the indie community but got snubbed in the grandious expectations of each publication.
I mean by this stage we all know Animal Crossing, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 are incredible games, That realistically those smaller titles cant stand against. At least with these funny categories some light can be focused on them.
And I hate EDGE magazine 😂
