The 2021 model’s base price nets buyers the entry-level Kicks S, which benefits from updated headlights, taillights, and fascias. Most notably, the base Kicks adds standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility to its 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system for 2021. The feature was previously limited to mid-level SV and top-dog SR trims.
Bigger changes come to those higher-end Kicks models for 2021. In addition to the styling updates of the lesser Kicks S, the SV and SR welcome a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment setup (1.0-inch larger than last year), a redesigned center console with an integrated armrest, an electrically operated parking brake, and rear disc brakes in place of the rear drums that Nissan previously fit on all Kicks models. Now, only the 2021 Kicks S relies on a set of rear drum brakes.
While Nissan’s yet to share pricing information for the 2021 Kicks SV and SR, the brand will surely add a few bucks to the starting sums of both models. If the $430 price increase of the 2021 Kicks S applies to the SV and SR, too, then look for these two Kicks trims to sticker for $22,225 and $22,845, respectively—if not more.
As before, all variants of the littlest Nissan SUV are front-wheel-drive-only. Likewise, a 122-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) serve as the model’s sole source of motivation. Look for the 2021 Nissan Kicks to go on sale in February.
