So… you basically made one point in your very short opinion piece, and that one point is quite subjective. To claim the game is “overrated”, I was expected some proper evidence and strong arguments. What I just read was a shallow piece that basically just says the game gets repetitive and boring after a while.
Well, guess what? Most games get repetitive and boring after a while, so what’s new? You know what else? Some people can play the same game for hundreds and hundreds of hours on end and not care about any other game on the planet (e.g. Monster Hunter, Minecraft, Animal Crossing, etc).
So while your point makes sense for you and some others out there, it is not a solid argument. The game has sold nearly 20 million units, has helped endless amounts of people cope during the pandemic, and it is a franchise that has been around for over two decades and clearly has some staying power.
Vastly overrated? I think your headline is vastly overstated.
