That’s some heavy cut for ray tracing and exactly why DLSS on Nvidia GPUs is so critical with ray tracing enabled.
Here you are halving framerate AND reducing resolution. If we assume 2176 x 1224 as the closest native 16:9 resolution. That is only about 2/3 the resolution of 2560 x 1440.
Ray tracing more than halves the performance in other words. Considerably more than halves.
I’m also concerned about the framerate. ‘Targets XXFPS’. Targets? Don’t you mean ‘locked? Not exactly giving me confidence about a solid framerate!
This game does not have the best history on consoles. https://www.youtube.com/wat… It suffered hugely in terms of poor performance especially on the base last gen systems. Digital Foundry found it was a real struggle on every machine except the One X.
The ray tracing on it is very complex and looks beautiful, but the hit is so vast even on these new consoles then we’ll have to see how it actually looks and runs.
