Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB Office First Look: Cloud Computing Is Better

February 4, 2021

Many of us have recently made the switch from working in an office setting to working from home. But why settle for a home office when you could potentially work from an anywhere office? Airstream has the answer. Meet the Airstream Flying Cloud 30FB Office, a go-almost-anywhere mobile office that promises to be just as comfortable as the desk in your living room, if not more so.

The 30FB is a more office-oriented layout of Airstream’s already popular Flying Cloud lineup of campers. However, Airstream has added a host of amenities to make on-the-go office life even easier. There is a dedicated desk area, a comfy-looking office chair, USB ports located throughout to make charging easier, overhead storage, and a privacy divider so more than one person can work in relative peace.

Airstream Connected, which is essentially a data plan to help keep you, well, connected, wherever you go, is included with the 30FB. There also is the option for solar panels as well as Airstream Power Plus, a power pack recently updated with a new inverter and lithium-ion batteries.

None of this office optimization renders this mobile oasis unlivable. (That’s a task for any potential office-mates, or kids, or a loud dog—you know, same deal as working from home.) The Flying Cloud FB30 still offers a queen bed, a bench, and a convertible dinette. All told, the FB30 can sleep up to six so you can take your significant other and up to four kids along to your favorite beach and watch them frolic by the sea while you tackle your workload.

You’ll want to figure out your towing situation before opting into the Flying Cloud 30FB experience. The trailer is just over 30 feet long and roughly 8.5 feet wide, and it weighs in at 6,757 pounds (with maximum trailer capacity of 8,800 pounds). May we suggest a midsize or, more likely, a full-size pickup? If you’re set in the lugging department, prices for the FB30 start at $107,500 and Airstream says its dealers are already taking orders for your new office away from anywhere.
