Last week, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei announced the official name of his new company: Nothing. After the internet went into a meltdown over the name, we all came to and realized that we had no idea what Nothing would even produce as far as hardware.
It’s possible we won’t need to wait much longer. According to a tweet from the official Nothing account, the company has an “important milestone” scheduled for next week. While there’s no confirmation, it’s very possible that milestone could be the launch of the first Nothing product.

While we have no clue if there will be a product launch from the company next week, we do at least have an idea of what the first Nothing product could be, whenever it may come. According to an early interview with Pei, he claimed his new then-unannounced company would start with an audio product.

It’s possible Nothing could start small with something like a new set of true wireless earbuds. This would be a way to show the company’s design ethos, branding, and market ambitions, while simultaneously being low-risk and an easy sell. However, Nothing-branded earbuds would need to be pretty unique in some way to make them stand out from the crowd — which, of course, includes entries from Pei’s former employer.
