- Google is now selling Fitbit products on the Google Store.
- The move follows Google’s acquisition of Fitbit earlier this year.
- Four devices are available, but no accessories are on offer.
Google completed its protracted purchase of Fitbit earlier this year. Now, the company is offering some Fitbit products alongside its own on the Google Store.
Fitbit now has its own section on Google’s outlet alongside the likes of its Stadia and Pixel brands. Just four of Fitbit’s products are available to purchase though, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine Google adding more in the future. The Sense, Versa 3, Charge 4, and Inspire 2 are currently listed — a strong initial lineup that covers all corners of Fitbit’s target market.
There’s no indication Google will monopolize Fitbit sales in the future. There are also no additional incentives to purchase the wearables from Google directly, at least not at the moment.
The likes of the Fitbit Sense are still available on Amazon at a slightly lower price. The Fitbit Versa 3 is currently set at the same price on Amazon, too. For now, Google only lists Fitbit’s devices, so you’ll have to venture to other retailers to purchase accessories, like bands or screen protectors for your new wearables.
Still, the listings are a reminder that Fitbit is no longer an independent brand. It remains unclear how Google will integrate Fitbit into its wearable program, but for now, it remains a separate brand and another “member of the Google family.”
