Today, Jeep announced that two of its upcoming Wagoneer-branded vehicles will be the first to have Fire TV built-in. The 2022 model-year Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will have screens in the backseat area with Fire TV access. Additionally, the console display will also be capable of streaming media content.

This specialized version of Fire TV — known as Amazon Fire TV for Auto — will be very similar to the Fire TV streamers you are already using. You’ll be able to stream or download content from the Amazon library. There will also be Alexa voice command support, so you can ask Alexa to play your favorite movies and shows.
Just like other Fire TV platforms, your views will sync to your account (assuming you establish a connection to the internet).

Loading pollIn case you are curious, Amazon Fire TV for Auto will prevent the vehicle’s driver from being able to view content on the console display while the vehicle is in motion. It would achieve this via a privacy screen. Theoretically, the front passenger would still be able to view the content. When the vehicle is in park, all screens will be viewable.
Jeep will formally announce the new Wagoneers with Fire TV onboard next week on March 11, 2021.
