James Gunn Hopes To Take A Long Nap After A Very Busy Upcoming Year

Director James Gunn is staying very busy these days. The director outlined his current projects on Twitter, and it sounds like he’ll be lucky to get much sleep at all in the time ahead.

He said when cameras start rolling on Guardians of the Galaxy 3, it will be “seven days a week on two movies, a TV series, a TV special, a Disney parks ride, and more.”

Guardians 3 will be years of working seven days a week on two movies, a TV series, a TV special, a Disney parks ride & more. I have no plans for anything after that & hope to refrain from having plans after that for the time being, other than a long nap. https://t.co/qx6ss1Tupp

After he’s wrapped up these projects, Gunn said he hopes to take a long nap. “I have no plans for anything after [all those projects] and hope to refrain from having plans after that for the time being, other than a long nap.”

The two movies he’s referring to are Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and The Suicide Squad. The TV series is the Peacemaker spinoff starring John Cena, the TV special is the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and the Disney parks ride is a new Guardians of the Galaxy ride for EPCOT at Disney World.

We still don’t know too much about Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but Gunn has confirmed it won’t resurrect Yondu, while the OG Groot is dead and will stay dead.

Gunn’s latest project is The Suicide Squad, which releases in theaters and on HBO Max in August.
