- OnePlus has revealed that the OnePlus 9 Pro will offer 50W wireless charging speeds.

OnePlus was one of the first brands to embrace faster charging technology, and we saw major strides from the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8T last year. Now, the company has revealed what we should expect from the OnePlus 9 series when it comes to top-ups.
The BBK-owned brand noted in a forum post that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be equipped with Warp Charge 50 Wireless tech, delivering 50W wireless charging speeds. This makes for a significant upgrade on paper over the OnePlus 8 Pro‘s 30W charging, and ties it with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 11.
OnePlus adds that this speed upgrade means you can wirelessly charge your OnePlus 9 Pro from zero to 100% in 43 minutes. The company also said it will be releasing a new wireless charging pad which features two charging coils, allowing you to charge in portrait or landscape orientations. Unfortunately, the firm didn’t mention wireless charging details for the standard OnePlus 9, which suggests it’ll either have much slower speeds or not have wireless charging capabilities. However, both phones will be equipped with 65W wired charging capabilities, matching last year’s OnePlus 8T.
The OnePlus 9 series sees several hardware tweaks and software optimizations to deliver improved wired charging speeds over last year’s phone. OnePlus says the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro will take 29 minutes to go from 1% to 100% capacity, shaving 10 minutes off the OnePlus 8T’s charging time.
In case you’re wondering, the manufacturer has also revealed that the 65W charger is included in the box. And it confirmed that you can use the in-box charger to power the 50W wireless charging pad.
