First OnePlus Watch render leaks online

OnePlus Watch Leaked Render

  • The first render of the OnePlus Watch just “leaked” through Unbox Therapy.
  • OnePlus shared Unbox’s “leak” shortly after, so this is clearly what the watch really looks like.
  • The design is very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2.

We’ve been hearing about OnePlus’ upcoming smartwatch for quite a while now, but only just today are we finally seeing it. Thanks to a render leaked through Unbox Therapy on Twitter (mirrored above), we can see the watch up-close and personal. OnePlus’ official Twitter account retweeted the image, so we can be assured this is what the watch really looks like.

Interestingly, the OnePlus Watch looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. It shares the same circular shape with curved edges and two subtle buttons on the right side. Even its strap is quite similar (although that also borrows a bit from the Apple Watch and Fitbit watches).

Regardless, the watch looks very nice. It would only be disappointing if you were hoping OnePlus would bring in some serious risk-taking innovation into the wearable space. This is its first run at this market, though, so it makes sense for the company to play it a bit safe.

The render doesn’t give us much other info such as specs and the like. However, we do know that the OnePlus Watch does not run on Wear OS. Instead, it will have a real-time operating system (RTOS). This would likely give it the advantage of great battery life and smooth performance. However, it also means it would likely have little or even zero third-party application support.

The watch will launch alongside the OnePlus 9 series on March 23, which is just around the corner. Stay tuned!
