Jeep Orange Peelz Concept Offers Blueprint for Moparized Wrangler Builds

We all know the current JL-generation Jeep Wrangler is a supremely capable off-roader, especially in hardcore Rubicon guise. But one of the best things about the Wrangler is that it’s more than a 4×4—it’s a blank canvas for you to paint your Jeep fantasies on. Thanks to Mopar’s exceptionally deep catalogue of Jeep parts and accessories, the possibilities are essentially endless, and all without needing to roam off to the aftermarket. These are mods you can buy through your local Jeep dealer!

So, what if you wanted to take your Wrangler to the next level using only Mopar hop-up bits? Well, the Orange Peelz Jeep concept headed to this year’s Easter Jeep Safari in Moab serves as a handy guide. One could even say it peelz back the curtain on the perfect blueprint for an extreme Wrangler build using both parts that are currently available from Mopar and a few that aren’t on sale (yet).

Among those prototype parts that could soon make their way to the Mopar catalog? A sweet set of steel “high top” fenders, modified rock rails, and a new hardtop roof design that replaces the dual removable Freedom Top panels over the front seat area with a single targa piece with a built-in sunroof.

Jeep hasn’t said if these concept parts will make it to production, but we think it’s safe to assume we’ll see at least the steel fenders and the new rock rails available soon. We recently reported on a leaked catalogue of more than 200 factory-backed accessories for the new Ford Bronco, and both big steel fenders and several options for rock rails appeared in it. There’s little doubt that Jeep will want to compete with Ford’s offerings, and this is probably just the tip of the aftermarket iceberg.

Other conceptual Orange Peelz-previewed bits include a new hood and fresh front and rear bumper guards that you can’t have yet. As for the stuff you can buy right this second, there’s a set of new half doors and a reinforced tailgate hinge to support the heft of a bigger 37-inch tire. Also available is a set of Jeep Performance Parts wheels with, you guessed it, 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires; a 2.0-inch lift thanks to a set of FOX shocks; and auxiliary lighting.

The interior is done up in orange plaid to match the eye-searing exterior paintwork (hence the Orange Peelz name) with other custom touches like JPP grand handles and Mopar stainless steel pedal covers. All in all, this looks like one lean, mean, extremely orange off-roading machine and the perfect inspiration for anyone who’s looking to do their Wrangler up to the nines using in-house Jeep parts.
