Nintendo Needs To Grow Up And Fix The eShop

All very valid points. The Switch eShop suffers from the same issues that plague Google’s Play Store. They are in desperate need of a better curation/recommendation system. What’s more confusing is that Steam has a provided a perfectly functional blueprint in their own store design. All Nintendo has to do is copy it.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Nintendo does feature eShop titles weekly on their “Weekly Download” newsletter, and they host plenty of indie Directs, plus tons of indie trailers on their Youtube channel. While the store itself is pretty dismal when it comes to highlighting eShop releases, Nintendo as a whole I feel has the right idea. They just need to better incorporate it into the store’s design. As it is now, if I’m looking for a new eShop game, I find it much more useful to browse Nintendo’;s Youtube channel instead of heading straight to the eShop, which is a shame.
