The concept is part of Toyota’s plan to ramp up the introduction of EVs. The world’s biggest carmaker is trailing, at least on paper, such rivals as General Motors, Volkswagen and Hyundai in rolling out ambitious EV lineups.
In unveiling the bZ4X, Toyota said it envisions a lineup of 15 dedicated EVs, including seven that get the new bZ branding. Future EVs will include a pickup truck coming in both hybrid and pure electric variants, Toyota added.
Toyota said its electrified portfolio, including hybrids, will reach 70 models worldwide by 2025.
