When paired with the Wii-mode the Wii U has the largest Virtual Console library of all Nintendo consoles and it also got a couple of digital versions of Wii games to download. And unofficially you can also run Gamecube and a plethora of other consoles.
Overall I would say that if you are in the market for a retro emulation console. The Wii U is a very solid option. It’s not as good as the Series S/X for systems like the Saturn, Dreamcast and it can’t run PS2. But having native support for Wii and GameCube(homebrew) is pretty nice + it’s easy to find and it’s somewaht cheap on the used market.
