I approve and understand this logic, but there’s a key issue here: that the company can’t bypass the scalpers. I’m reading quotes online that people are wanting to play Ratchet and Clank, coming out soon, but they can’t because they can’t physically access a PS5. They can buy the disc immediately but not the system.
It’s a terrible cycle and not fun right now. But. If a game doesn’t sell well in the first weeks, it stops selling well. Discounts drop the value. And the user base is larger there.
Maybe *some* games should harness that full power. But picking and choosing who has to do that is hard.
