Mike Myers Is Playing 7 Characters In New Netflix Series The Pentaverate

Netflix has announced an ambitious-sounding new limited series in which Mike Myers will play 7 different characters. The show is called The Pentaverate, and it’s a comedy series about a secret society that has been controlling events of the world since 1347.

The Pentaverate is the titular society, named after its five members. “What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347?” reads a line from its description. “As this new series begins, one unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself embroiled in a mission to uncover the truth and just possibly save the world himself. Remember, the Pentaverate must never be exposed!”

In addition to Myers, the show will feature Ken Jeong (The Hangover), Keegan-Michael Key (Lion King), Debi Mazar (Goodfellas), Richard McCabe (Eye in the Sky), Jennifer Saunders (Death on the Nile), and Lydia West (Years and Years). Netflix’s news release didn’t give any details on the characters that each actor will play.

Myers created the show and is also an executive producer, while Tim Kirkby (Fleabag) is directing. There will be six episodes in the series, all of which are 30 minutes.

This is not the first time Myers has played multiple characters in the same production. In the movie So I Married an Axe Murderer, Myers plays the main character and his father. In this movie, Myers’ character talks about The Pentaverate, and says it’s made up of the Queen, the Vatican, the Gettys, and Rothschilds, and Colonel Sanders. Clearly, Myers has been stewing on the idea for The Pentaverate for some time.

Mike Myers will play seven brand new characters in The Pentaverate, a limited series he created about a secret society who have been working to influence world events since 1347.
