This Samsung Chromebook is still on sale at its low Prime Day price of just under $160

SAVE $70.99: Typically $229.99, the 32GB Samsung Chromebook 4 is on sale at Walmart for just $159 as of July 6 — a 31% savings.

Let’s play a quick game of word association: What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you think of cheap laptops? For us, it’s “Chromebook” — as in, that special kind of laptop that runs on Google’s browser-based Chrome OS. With less demanding hardware requirements than your average Windows and MacOS machines, Chromebooks are typically some of the smallest, most portable, and least expensive options on the market — like, if you ever pay more than $1,000 for a full-featured Chromebook, you’re doing it wrong. (Take notes, Apple.)

Here’s one that’s especially cheap right now: The excellent Samsung Chromebook 4 with 32GB of storage is on sale at Walmart for just $159 as of June 6 — that’s 31% off its $229.99 MSRP, which happens to be an exact match of its all-time-low Prime Day discount from last month.

Oh, and don’t bother looking for it on Amazon: It was completely sold out there aside from one lonely used model. (If it helps, Walmart’s offering free two-day delivery with no subscription or membership required.)

For the uninitiated, the Chromebook 4 is an 11.6-inch machine from late 2019 that nabbed the top spot on Mashable’s list of the best sub-$300 laptops for its decently long battery life and zippy performance. The latter can be credited to an Intel Celeron Processor N4000 and 4GB of RAM, though the real star of the show is probably its built-in Google Assistant — you can verbally ask it to perform a variety of tasks, from updating your calendar to jotting down a note.

Look no further if your kiddo needs a computer for the upcoming school year — this bad boy also boasts military-grade durability and multiple layers of virus protection (with automatic updates that make sure it never lets its guard down).
